Dr. Somarriba specializes in Wireless Ad Hoc and Mesh Networks and completed a research stay at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. He currently researches Mobile Security for Smart Devices and Wireless Mesh Networks using Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
With over 40 years of experience in IT, including roles at Nicaragua’s telecommunications regulatory body, Telcor, Dr. Somarriba has extensive expertise in ICT branches such as Programming, Systems Programming, and Network Design. His academic work includes teaching and research at renowned universities like UNI and KTH, as well as authoring over 25 scientific papers.
Since joining Keiser University in 2020, Dr. Somarriba has taught courses in Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Cybersecurity, and other advanced topics, sharing his deep expertise in teaching, consulting, and research.
