Keiser University is more than a place where you can develop professionally; it is also a home of love, caring and success. I enrolled my first semester in Spring 2016, studying a career in business administration with a concentration in international business and I never thought about becoming the current president of the Student Government (SGA). This is my third consecutive year being part of SGA, but the first to rule as president. When I came to this university I thought that I would have a normal student life, going to my classes, participating in some activities, but mostly concentrating only on my classes. Since Keiser is not just a place where classes are taught, but also works as a home for those who want to live on campus and have a different university experience; it is virtually impossible not be contagious by Keiser spirit along with the other students and the staff.
I started being part of the Student Government as member of the Campus Activity Board, where we took care of different extracurricular activities on and off campus, with the purpose of entertaining, have fun but above all bringing students closer to each other. My second period, I performed as Community Coordinator. In this position, I began to have more responsibilities since I was in charge of being a bridge between students and administration; be aware of the bedrooms, cafeteria, laundry, outings and also student access to online portals of the university. All this has allowed me to gain experience and trust with the administration of the university, allowing me to be the president of the student government and begin to hold the most important position in my life.
As president, my challenges and expectations for this year are big and we are setting up our own bar very high. As a university we have been growing a lot with the help of the good management of our staff and administration, always in favor of excellent education but never leaving aside spirituality and companionship. My goal is to make a mark in this university by leading and serving our students, letting them know that not only will they get their degree, but they will also make unforgettable experiences with their classmates. With the help of the SGA team, we will make sure we can listen to and fulfill the wishes and needs of each student so that they can enjoy and learn during this stage of their lives, which will undoubtedly be the best one yet.
