Dr. Leonel Plazaola is an experienced academic that has been involved in research on the topic of alignment of information systems with business objectives. He has published over 25 papers in internationally recognized conferences and forums. With a PhD in Industrial Information and Control Systems from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. Dr. Plazaola has dedicated over 40 years to education, research, and consulting in the fields of Information Systems, ICT, and engineering. He is the founding Dean of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), Nicaragua, He has been involved in international research projects. He is interested in bridging academic work (teaching/research/project development/innovation) with practical, real-world applications that can show measurable impact in his topics of interest.
