Dr. Centeno-Caffarena is an Industrial engineer, with an MBA, a master’s degree in local economic development, and a doctorate in business management, with emphasis on family businesses and entrepreneurship.
He has two decades of experience teaching entrepreneurship, small and medium firm development, and family firms; as researcher he publishes yearly two papers in those same topics.
Member of the board of several corporations in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and founder and director of CEPRODEF, an NGO created to assist and professionalize the family firm and promote entrepreneurship in the country. This NGO has trained more than 1000 business owners in 7 years, attended more than 120 family businesses, and provide entrepreneurial training every year to 100 youngsters.
He teaches in undergraduate and graduate programs.
