[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Some students believe that it is impossible to have a healthy lifestyle when they are at university. Indeed, you will probably hear that you will gain more than ten pounds in your first semester at college. However, this is a fact that you do not have to bother about when you know how to control what you eat and how you exercise your body. At Keiser University, we care about the health of our student. One of our slogans states that “Students come first.” That is the reason why we would like to talk to you about the two most primary determinants of a healthy lifestyle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]GET A HEALTHY DIET
It is necessary including vegetables and fruits in your diet because they have a lot of vitamin and minerals. Experts suggest 5-9 servings of fruits/vegetables a day. Sometimes, there are some fruits that we do not like; therefore, you may write a list of your favorite ones and then include them in your daily diet. Besides, you have to cut processed foods in your diet because they contain preservatives that are harmful to your body. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”11979″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Furthermore, scientists discovered that deep-fried food has acrylamide which is a chemical that may cause cancer. You may think that water is not that critical in your diet; however, it is vital for body function. Nutritionists have proved that a person needs to drink at least eight glasses with water a day to be hydrated. Candy bars, chocolate, and desserts are charged on sugar. Indeed, these are food that does not fill you up, and due to the sugar rush, they make you want more of them. Go for healthy snacks instead like fruits, salads, pure juices, and unprocessed foods.
Keiser University is an institution which cares of their students. Therefore, we offer two solutions to our students so that they have healthy meals whenever they decide to start this change in their lives.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12006″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
- Diet Plan along with the Cafeteria
At Keiser University, students can pay different meal plans. The advantage is that if a student has visited a nutritionist, who prescribed a special diet, the student can talk with the chef and his team to organize the meals according to the monthly menu. Besides, Cafeteria prepares a daily station of fruits; therefore, you can have fruits at the breakfast and lunch.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]2. The Salad Bar at Lunch
The Dean of students, along with the Student Government Association, has made possible a salad bar at Lunch. If you want to eat healthily, you can decide to eat at this new place that the cafeteria offers. If it is your decision, you just swipe your ID card through the reader and you go to the salad bar where you can have a delicious plate of fresh vegetables.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]BURN CALORIES
Another factor to a healthy lifestyle is learning how to burn calories. To burn calories, a person must exercise his body regularly. However, not all people are that sporty to do exercise every day. The key is to find a hobby that you can enjoy while burning calories at the same time. Just a walk in the morning gives your body the movement it needs. Creating a daily exercise routine is essential. It can help low your risk of diseases and lose weight. You do not have to think about exercise as a responsibility, you have to have fun in the meantime. When you enjoy exercising your body, you will do it later naturally and continuously.
At Keiser University, the Student Life department wants to offer students the opportunity to exercise and have fun in their university experience. There are three different options from which you can choose if you are willing to burn calories.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
- Gym on campus
Keiser University is one of the few universities in Nicaragua that own a gym on campus. Our gym has several types of equipment for exercising the body and increasing strength. Sports Teams
If you are more a sporty person rather than those who like the gym, Keiser University has six sports teams, among them basketball, soccer, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, beach volleyball, and tae kwon-do. Each of these teams is led by a qualified trainer that teach our students how to improve their abilities. Aerobics
Do you not like to play sports or go to the gym? However, do you like to dance? Then, the third option is your solution. Every day, the aerobics class takes place in the gym area at 6:00 PM. With such a charismatic coach, you can dance, lose weight and have fun. No matter your sex, you can attend the lessons and dance the stress out of you. Keiser University seeks to give an opportunity to everyone; therefore, if you feel that dancing is your preference, you have to go to aerobics.
A healthy lifestyle leads you to have strong well-being. It is worth mentioning that being healthy is not just about taking care of what you eat and how you exercise; it also is about knowing and caring about all of you. Taking care of you from the inside out is crucial in a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, you have to learn how to control your emotion, so that you will protect your body and health.
